MD500E Engine Failure In Alaska
A 1991 MD500E with the tail number of N26TC reportedly had an engine failure in Delta County Saturday afternoon. The helicopter was flying over the Delta River after leaving the town when it crashed in to some trees with four on board. They were all able to get out of the aircraft and summon help. One of the passengers suffered unknown injuries and was transported to Anchorage for evaluation.
The helicopter is owned and operated by Aurora Aviation Services which is based in Delta Junction. According to their website, they also have a 206L and offer a variety of services from power line inspection to long line and limited HEMS.
