Omniflight Crash Kills Three In Texas
Army authorities are reporting that a helicopter operating in an HEMS role crashed last night at Fort Bliss, just outside of El Paso. It appears that the aircraft was in the landing phase when something went wrong. A fire broke out after the crash and all three on board lost their lives. The helicopter was working in a support role for training missions takingĀ place at the time.
The aircraft was a Southwest Medevac helicopter operated by Omniflight. No details yet on specifically which one it was but I’ll update as I find out more.
Update: The accident occurred just before 7:30pm. The helicopter was equipped with NVGs and a radar altimeter. Local weather was clear at the time.
Update 2: It was an AS350
