A BO-105 crashed with five on board yesterday near Marina Beach in Indonesia. It was involved in search and rescue training when the helicopter flew too low and one of the skids caught the water. Three aboard the aircraft were injured. I was going to write about this story yesterday but there was far too little information. Then I came across the video below. Just to take a guess I’d say this was a case of the pilot becoming disoriented due to the calm water’s reflection and not trusting or looking at the gauges. That is of course all conjecture though, we’ll have to wait for an official report.
